Design and Technology is all about solving real life problems and using a range of maths, science, computing and art skills to do so.
At Knollmead we aim to teach DT that inspires children to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative and enterprising. We want children to create with an audience in mind. Building, creating, whilst considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. We understand that DT is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject and believe that children should be taught to evaluate past and present design and technology as they develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.
Through our teaching our children will be inspired by engineers, designers, chefs and architects. Giving them an understanding of how DT contributes to the creativity, culture, wealth and well being of the nation.
