Welcome to Knollmead Primary School

We have the highest aspirations for all at Knollmead by being ambitious, inclusive and resilient and we strive for our children to be the same. We are very proud of the learning that takes place here, in particular consistently achieving progress above the national average. Our more able pupils also flourish at Knollmead, with 53% of children in the mainstream part of the school achieving the higher standard in reading in 2024 (compared to 29% of children nationally), and 53% of children in the mainstream part of the school achieving the higher standard in maths in 2024 (compared to 24% of children nationally).

Heritage Day was a fantastic celebration, and it was wonderful to see all the children dressed in their amazing outfits. The excitement and enthusiasm throughout the day was lovely to see. The children all had the opportunity to share their Heritage Day posters and speak proudly about their heritage, cultures, and family traditions. It was a great chance for everyone to learn more about one another and celebrate the diversity within our school community. We also enjoyed a number of fashion shows, where the children confidently showed off their outfits and explained why they are special to them. Alongside this, the children created shields and pictures to represent their heritage and culture. It has been a truly special day filled with learning, sharing, and celebrating the many cultures and traditions that make our community so unique.
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is an INSET Day. We look forward to welcoming children back to school on Monday 1st June after the half term break.
🌳Year 6 enjoyed a visit to our local park as part of their new DT project on playground equipment! The children explored and researched current playground designs, discussing what works well, how equipment can be improved and created prototypes for their own innovative playground equipment. We can’t wait to see their creative designs develop over the coming weeks!
Wishing all of our wonderful Year 6 pupils the BEST of luck for SATs Week! 🍀🐥 Yesterday they received their special Good Luck Ducks to remind them to stay calm, be confident and always try their best. We are already incredibly proud of you all — now go and shine! ✨
Mud, mayhem & masterpieces! We have introduced building materials and a mud kitchen to the field. Last week, our year 5 and 6 children spent ages working together to create a cake. Who wants the first slice 🥮?!
A huge thank you to the Blakely family for their donation of new books for our library, in memory of Joel Blakely. The Blakely's have been making this annual donation for many years and their generosity is greatly appreciated by all the whole school. 📚

Our Year 4 & 5 children performed at the Malden & Coombe Cluster Concert at the @rosetheatrekingston last week impressing the audience with their rendition of Neverending Story.⠀ ⠀ This year the show was linked to the #NationalYearofReading #GoAllIn campaign with all the performances being themed around books and stories.⠀ ⠀ Well done to our performers - you were all amazing!
Last half term, our whole school took part in an exciting #ScienceWeek , exploring the theme of curiosity. Pupils across all year groups got involved in different in class activities and entered a competition inspired by asking questions, investigating ideas, and thinking like real scientists. A huge well done to our 4 winners who stood out with their fantastic efforts, creativity, and curiosity!
Year 4 are feeling fishy! They have created some fabulous fish sculptures from papier mache which are now on display in their "aquarium" in reception - come and have a look next time you are in school. #KMYr4 #feelingfishy
